Two recent custom orders have give me the opportunity to revisit some old ideas. these photos are of one of the widow-maker boards that we built under the Fluid Concept Label in Mid 1999. Mark Dickinson (Fluid Concept) and i were riding mostly single fins at the time. we were experimenting with different ideas to maintain control at the high speeds generated by larger, more powerful waves. inspired by the likes of Terry Fitzgerald and Dave Parmenter an obvious step forward was the widow maker set up. These boards were fast but retained the drive and predictability in critical situations that had been lacking in the single fins. i rode this board in everything from waist high upwards.
